Twycross Zoo opened to the public in 1963. Since its inception, the zoo has doubled in size and currently maintains about 200 species of animal. Famous for its Primate collection and breeding programmes, the zoo has been a registered charity since 1972.
The Zoo is situated on the A444,close to the M42 (Junction 11) on the Warwickshire / Leicestershire border - (The map is from www.streetmap.co.uk, and may take some time to download...) - More information about the Zoo can be found on their site.
The Twycross Zoo Association (T.Z.A) was formed in 1972 and has the following aims:

The Membership year is from April
1st to March 31st.
Twycross Zoo News is published three times a year. Materials and contributions (including Readers Letters) should be submitted to the Editorial board. Such materials and contributions are accepted on the understanding that they are original and unpublished unless stated otherwise.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit material without prior consultation unless requested otherwise in writing.
